Fairways for Warriors Hosts First Annual Gala

Event Honors Sponsors and Supporters

Fairways for Warriors, a nonprofit organization that helps combat wounded warriors with their mental, physical, emotional, and social rehabilitation, hosted its first annual Sponsor Appreciation Gala on Thursday, November 11 at the Eagle Creek Golf Club, in Orlando, FL.

For eleven years, Fairways for Warriors has created a community with a holistic approach, where combat veterans and their families know help is available for all their life challenges: being available 24/7 to talk, meeting veterans for lunch or coffee, playing golf when they’re having a bad day, helping each other with childcare, yard work, or moving. This reflects the same community veterans had in the military.

"Fairways for Warriors is a lifeline for our combat wounded veterans and their families. We are focused on healing unseen wounds through hope, healing, and camaraderie for combat wounded veterans and their families through our outreach and support in our chapters across the country. The gala was our first annual signature event that is just one of the ways that we raise funds to fulfill this mission and continue to expand," says Brian K. Hicks, Executive Director, Fairways for Warriors.

Held on Veteran’s Day, the Sponsor Appreciation Gala was a high-end event filled with fun and exhilarating entertainment, a top shelf four-course catered dinner modeled to recognize and give appreciation to our multiyear financial sponsors, and supporters. The night featured live music from the Spazmatics, an 80’s tribute band, dancing, and a live auction, all geared to raise awareness to fulfill the Fairways for Warriors mission to combat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Through the generous support of sponsors, donors and supporters, Fairways for Warriors has made an impact in the lives of combat-wounded veterans and their families for the past eleven years.

“I have been a member of Fairways for Warriors Orlando Chapter for about six years. What Fairways for Warriors has done for me, and my family cannot be quantified with any dollar amount. I have met a group of people that have been amazing on and off the golf course. I have built friendships that are very reminiscent of my days in the army. I appreciate everything that Fairways for Warriors has done for me, and I appreciate everyone that has helped to make Fairways for Warriors what it is today,” says Boogaloo, Fairways for Warriors Orlando Chapter member.

Services and support offered Fairways for Warriors include:

  • No-cost golf clinics, golf tournaments, no-cost opportunities for sporting events and
other activities to help with the effects of isolation and depression.

  • Counseling for PTSD and anger management as well as marriage counseling.
